| 内容記述 | "Instead of the traditional piggback band, various types of newly designed baby-carriers have been used among young Japanese mothers recently. This study attempts to clarify the characteristics of baby-carrying posture in the case when these carriers are used for carrying a baby on the back and evaluate the suitability of the carriers. An experiment was conducted employing the traditional piggyback band and three types of modern baby-carriers. To prevent accidents, two baby-dummies of different sizes were used in the experiment. The subjects were 40 female students aged from 20 to 22 years. The study showed that : (1) The subjects stood almost perpendicularly, but slightly leaning forward, when they had nothing on the chest or on the back. (2) The heavier the load on the back, the more the subjects leaned forward. (3) In the case of carrying a dummy on the back, the subjects seemed to bend forward at the lumbar or bend backward at the neck to regulate their posture. (4) The subjects preferred carrying the dummy on their back with a modern baby-carrier ; however, their baby-carrying posture was almost the same in any case when they used the traditional band or the newly designed one." | |||||
