There are three main characteristics of IDS:\n（1） speaking in a higher pitch than normal,（ 2） speaking more slowly than normal and（3）\nusing greater intonations than normal. This is a universal phenomenon that can be observed\nin the interactions with infants by individuals, families or groups of people regardless of the\nlanguage they speak. Songs directed at infants, such as lullabies, may be greater expressions\nof the characteristics of motherese. This study examined these expressions in a Danish\nsetting for parents and infants called the\n　Baby’s Hymn Programme（Babysalmesang）.
