| 内容記述 | "When a carrier is used for carrying a baby on the chest, a blind spot will come out around the feet of a carrying person, and this might create some safety problems not only for the carrying person but also for the carried baby. This study attempts to clarify the size of the blind spot at the feet of a carrying person when a baby-carrier is used to carry a baby on the chest. An experiment was conducted using two baby-dummies of different sizes. The size and weight of the smaller dummy (F06) is the same as that of a 6-month-old female baby (7.5kg, 66cm). The bigger dummy (M12) is similar to an average Japanese 12-month-old male baby (10kg, 75cm). The subjects were 40 female students aged from 21 to 22 years. No one had experience carrying a baby on the chest. They practiced fitting and adjusting two types of baby carriers using the dummies. The subjects were instructed to stand in front of cameras carrying the dummy on the chest with the carrier. In each situation, static posture was first recorded by 35 mm cameras. Then, the range of the visual field around the subject was measured. The area in the dead angle at the feet of a carrying person showed a tendency to change according to the size of the carried dummy and the body type of the person carrying it. The mean and SD of the blind spot in front of the subjects for the F06 was 156.0 (28.7) cm, and that for the M12 was 194.0 (47.7) cm. The area in the dead angle for the taller group (11 subjects, 160.0-169.0cm) was smaller than that of the shorter group (12 subjects, 150.0-155.0cm), and it was also smaller for the thin group (10 subjects, BMI : 15.2-19.2) as compared with the normal weight group (10 subjects, BMI : 22.0-25.5)." | |||||
